A "Mother's LOVE"

(After reading this letter, please click the TAB above entitled "A Mother's LOVE" Thank you!)

February 10, 2014

Dear Friends and Family,

Happy 2014!  We pray all is well in your household.

I am writing to you today to share some very exciting updates about our 2nd adoption journey!

We just celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary and most of you know that we are about to embark on our one year anniversary of beginning our 2nd adoption journey!  We are very excited and look forward to meeting the next two little feet that will join our family!

In 2011, we answered the call to adoption after a very long chapter of trying to have a biological child.  We have been blessed with our precious baby Niyla who will be two years old at the end of March.  Can you believe it?!  She is an answer to many prayers from us and many of your prayers as well.  Adoption has been an awesome path directed by God for our lives.  So, I am writing to give you the good news of our second adoption and a few details of the pull on a Mother’s LOVE that I know all of you can relate to.

Once again, we are working with Bethany Christian Services.  This agency is nationwide and brings birthmothers and adoptive parents together in a safe serene atmosphere.  Adoption is quite expensive and this particular agency comes at a price of about $21,450. The first $8,450 we have already paid, which covers our home study and application processing.  We praise the Lord for His provision.  Once we are matched and our baby is placed in our home, $10,000 is due to our agency and the remaining $3,000 is due to our lawyer.  We have applied to three grant organizations of which we have received one grant from Forever Families ($1,500 YEAH!), one grant was denied and one we have yet to hear from until we are matched with a birth family.  To date we have $10,750!!  The average wait time at our agency is 19 months and we have currently been waiting 12 months.  We believe we are above average and are hopeful that this will be the year we meet Baby “M”!

As friends and family who have been praying for us, encouraging us and following our journeys, we are asking for your faithful prayers, emotional encouragement, and if led, financial donation.  What an opportunity to be able to help give a little baby the LOVE of two parents!  Most of you have met Niyla and you know what a tremendous blessing she is to everyone she meets.  We know the next Baby "M" will be as well.  As Christian parents, we take the responsibility of our marriage, our love for the Lord and the love of our children very seriously.  We have accepted the call to train Niyla and all future children in the admonition of the Lord!

On this second journey, we’ve accomplished the completion of all the state of Wisconsin and agency requirements to successfully finish our home study along with 30 hours of coursework!  WHEW!  Annually, a home study visit and update is required in order to renew and continue our license.  We have already completed the paperwork for this and we've had our home visit from our social worker, which concludes the requirements for renewal.  We would love for you to visit Bethany’s website and view our on-line profile @ http://waitingfamilies.bethany.org/home/wisconsin/mark-and-jennifer.  We continue to update it periodically as Niyla continues to grow!  We also invite you to share this with anyone you know who may be considering adoption or who may know someone who is considering adoption.  We’d love any opportunity to be considered as potential parents for a baby in need of a loving home.

Please feel free to contact us if you desire as we'd LOVE to hear from you!

Many of you have sent cards, emails, given hugs, encouraged us in person or called us about our adoption and we welcome that to continue.  Every pregnant woman loves to be asked about her baby-to-be.  We are expecting on paper and although there’s no visible baby bump, I can assure you our mound of paperwork is VERY visible.  Even more important is our large bump of LOVE that we have for our next child.  Thank you for your words of encouragement and prayers as they mean so very much to us.  We wanted to begin this year by letting each of you know personally of the joy it is for you to be a part of our lives and this personal journey.  Our sincere heart-felt appreciation for all your prayers and universal support goes out to each and every one of you!

Ephesians 1:5
“He predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.”

In His LOVE,

“Train up a child in the way he should go:
and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
